Tools You Need To Remodel Your Kitchen
Are you a homeowner that has decided that remodeled your kitchen is just what you need? If so, you are probably considering doing the complete
remodeling job by yourself. If that is the case there a quite a few tools that you will need to have on hand. There is a good chance that you
already have the majority of the tools needed for your kitchen remodeling project, but there is a chance that you might not. Do not worry because
you can go to you local home improvement store and purchase any tool you may need. For larger more expensive tools you can also look into rent
them for a day and saving that money.
Before you actually go and try to purchase your tools first determine what type of remodeling you will actually be doing. For example, if you
are installing a new set of kitchen cabinets or replacing your flooring you will find that the tools needed will be fairly similar. That is why
it is advised that you determine exactly what in your kitchen you would like remodeled, as well as what types of tools will be needed. It does
not matter if the different jobs require a few different tools, you will still need the same basic tools no matter which type of job you are
doing
Perhaps, one most important tool you will need is a hammer. Hammers are can be helpful for a wide variety of different types of kitchen
remodeling projects, particularly ones that require nails or nail removal. Hammers can also be used to help position a tile or countertop piece
into a tight space. Since most people regularly use a hammer around the house there is a very good possibility that you already own a hammer.
Aside from a hammer, it is also a good idea to have a good screw gun on hand. You may already have either an electric or a battery operated
screw gun on hand, either one
will do. Make sure that you have a variety of screw bits so you
can remove any type of screw. You should have one Phipps head, one square head and one flat head tip. Make sure that the screw gun you choose has
an easy release or keyless chuck so you can change out the bits quickly and easily.
When you remodel you kitchen a handy little tool to have is a putty knife. They are multi-functional and can be easily used when replacing
kitchen countertops or when retiling your kitchen floor. They are great for removing unwanted or unneeded caulking or spreading around the
adhesive that is needed to hold your kitchen tiles down. Putty knifes are commonly used tools, but they are not as common as hammers or screw
guns; therefore, you may need to go out and purchase one for yourself.
If you are doing any cabinetry work the most important tool to have is a level. You will need this when set your base cabinets or hanging the
uppers. When you put countertops on you will also require the help of a level. The last thing you want after all your hard work is to have your
cabinets running out of level. Usually a four foot level will work so don't go out and buy the more expensive 8-foot level.
In addition to the above-mentioned tools, you may need to have a plumbing wrench, a measuring tape, a glue gun and caulking, a pair of pliers,
and a ladder. Of course, it is also advised that you think along the lines of safety. In addition to the above-mentioned tools, it may be a good
idea to have a dust mask, a pair of safety goggles, a back protector, and a good pair of work gloves, just to be on the safe side.
